Blog: Library of the Chathams Shout Out

Chatham Library 3.jpg

Hello to all my Library of the Chathams friends!  I was there on Friday and what fun we had.  Thanks to librarian Jay Chatterjee and to the Friends of the Library for bringing me in.  A quick shout out to my daughter Lindsay, and some of my old friends who came to the event…Martha, Karen (thanks for the pic, Karen), Robin, Mason, Carly, Lauren, Annie and Gweni.  Thanks for all the support, guys.  And cheers to all my new friends too.  We had a great time, didn’t we?  We all shouted the word zucchini at the top of our lungs and we ate up some yummy grapes too.  But we didn’t just eat the grapes, did we?  We popped them!  Try it.  Next time you find yourself eating a bunch of grapes, don’t just eat them…pop them in your mouth.  Try it.  Pop a grape.  And remember, Poppagrape is not a dad.  Poppagrape is not a fad.  Poppagrape is what you do, with juicy red and green grapes too.  After reciting my poetry, the kids stepped up to the plate and wrote their own poem!  It is a great piece of work and here it is:

The Stuff We Like

I like to jump

I like apples very much

Purple is in the rainbow

The sky is blue

Butterflies fly up in the sky

I live in my house

I love pineapples

I eat strawberries for lunch

I share pickles with my friends

Jumping jacks are fun

Candy is sticky
